*Swimming Lessons*

While we were on our Lava adventure for my Dad's b-day, we drove to a lake. I was pretty excited about this, because I have always wanted to see if the Ferg would figure out how to swim. Apparently, some pugs don't just know how to swim....weird, right?! When we got there she wouldn't even get close to the water. She's such a sissy sometimes! So Matt hitched up his shorts (hahaha!) and carried her into the water to give her a swimming lesson! LOL!! I was honestly laughing so hard.....she looked like a little drowned rat!

*The Big FIVE-OH!!*

I have been a serious blog slacker lately. I blame it on that stupid facebook. By the time I'm done there, I don't want to be on the computer anymore! Anyhow, this post is pretty much dedicated to my DAD. He turned 50 at the beginning of September, and he decided that he wanted the family to go camping. So camp we did!! We went up to Lava Hot Springs and camped just down the road from the famous pools. At night we would go sit in the hot, hot water, and it felt sooo good. Matt and I brought up Annie with us a day after the rest of the fam was there, and the next day we floated the river. It was a blast!!! In some places the rapids were wild enough that they could buck you right off of your tube, and with lava rock as the river floor, we all recieved a battle wound or two....or, like, 8 in Matt's case. Haha!

We went for a drive to find a place that my dad could remember fishing at when he was younger with his dad. The canyon that the river has cut out here is really cool, because it's all black lava rock. That's not something you see every day. The view here was so great that I just had to get a picture of Matt and me, and cute Adam & Annie.

It took us FOREVER to find the place!!! Seriously, we drove around for more than an hour, but we were having fun in our truck laughing about stupid stuff.....as usual. When we got there it was so pretty. So peaceful, and the sun was starting to go down so it was just calm and beautiful. My dad got out his fishing gear, and we all just sort of hung out and enjoyed the surroundings.
Matt and Alex on the bridge. Wonder what their mischevious minds are plotting....?

Cute Adam and Annie. I snuck a picture, cuz I'm sneaky like that. ;) And I tend to get photo happy on family outings. Oh I know, that is such a revelation!!

The next few pictures are but a small example of why Matt and Alex get along so well. They started to get bored, so they decided that they would try and make "boats" out of a piece of paper and see which one would last the longest and make it the furthest. They honestly were so amused!! Haha! It was quite funny! Mostly because their boats were so lame.
showing off their masterpieces
getting really competetive and yelling at their boats
it's a tie!!!!
THE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!
My Grandma had a birthday bash for my dad's big day over Peach Days weekend. She made some of his favorite food (homemade chinese food. mmmmm....) and decided to get a little silly with the occasion and brought out a PINATA!!! hahaha!! It was so funny. He was bound and determined to show that cardboard who's boss, and I truly feared for my life....he whacked that thing really good several times, and it didn't break!! We all were completely dumbstruck! It was really good times. I even have a little video clip for you to prove it.
I really love my dad so much. I admit, I'm a daddy's girl. And I have to say that I'm so proud of him. It's been really neat to watch him the past few years from a different point of view -- that of a daughter that is married and no longer living in his beautiful home. He has grown so much, and I am amazed by the wonderful man he is becoming. I wish every girl in the world could have a dad that is so loving, and that they can look up to as much as I do my dad. The world truly would be a better place. So THANKS DAD, for being so awesome!!!
